1. **Leverage Long on a Token**
    * **Explanation:** Borrow funds using Token X as collateral to purchase more of Token X as you believe it will appreciate in price.
    * **Example:** Alice believes Token X price will increase. She deposits Token X as collateral, borrows  ADA, and buys more HUNT. She repeats the process a few times, folding more leverage.  If Token X price goes up, potential profits are amplified (but so are losses if it declines).

2. **Leverage Short on a Token**
    * **Explanation:**  Borrow an asset you think will decrease in value, sell it, with the intent of buying it back cheaper later to repay your loan.
    * **Example:**  Bob believes Token X is overpriced. He borrows Token X, sells it, hoping to buy it back later at a lower price to repay the loan plus interest, pocketing the difference (risk of loss if Token X price increases).

3. **Borrow for Extra Liquidity**
   * **Explanation:** Access funds without directly selling your holdings. 
   * **Example:** Sarah needs temporary liquidity for an expense, but doesn't want to sell her Token X holdings. She uses Token X as collateral to get a loan for ADA, covering her expenses, and repays the loan later to reclaim her Token X.

4. **Lend for Interest Yield**
    * **Explanation:** Deposit your crypto assets into lending protocols to earn interest. 
    * **Example:**  John has ADA he's not actively using. He deposits it into a lending platform, earning passive interest paid by borrowers.

**Advanced Use Cases**

5. **Arbitrage Loans for Yield**
    * **Explanation:** Take advantage of interest rate differences between platforms. Borrow at a lower rate from one platform, lend at a higher rate on another, pocketing the difference.
    * **Example:** Platform A offers ADA lending at 5% APY, while Platform B offers 8% APY for lending ADA. A savvy user could borrow on A, lend on B, and potentially profit from the spread (minus transaction costs).

6. **Borrow Stake Delegation for ISPO**
    * **Explanation:** Participate in an Initial Stake Pool Offering (ISPO) without owning enough ADA yourself.
    * **Example:** A new project launches an ISPO, requiring delegation to their pool. Alice wants to participate but lacks sufficient ADA.  She can potentially borrow delegated ADA,  supporting the project,  and earn rewards. 

7. **Protective Put**
    * **Explanation:** A hedging strategy, similar to purchasing insurance, to limit potential downside risk on an asset you hold.  Effectively the price per token of the LTV offer functions as a strike price for a put option.  If the price falls below this threshold, the borrow can allow the loan to default and keep the borrowed ADA.  Levvy and FluidTokens offer this type of loan via peer-to-peer borrowing.  
    * **Example:**  Mark owns a significant amount of Token X. To protect against a sudden price drop, he could borrow ADA using Token X as collateral on a platform that uses fixed-duration loans with no liquidations based on health factor.  When the loan-to-value ratio (LTV) crosses over 100%, he can decline to repay the loan and keep the difference.  

**Important Considerations**

* **Risk:** DeFi lending strategies carry varying risk levels. Leverage, arbitrage, and options involve greater potential for both significant gains and significant losses.
